Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of production employees engaged in operating a variety of equipment to produce ingredients by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities: Under direction of the Production Manager, schedules and sets up production lines involving a variety of processing and packaging operations.

  • Directly responsible for the supervision of production employees including: training, employee motivation, performance evaluations, maintaining compliance with state and federal employment laws, disciplinary action, and recommend compensation adjustments etc.
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate employee hours and create equipment-operating schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Inspects and approves work areas for proper production set up and sanitation conditions.
  • Checks flow of work, analyzes delays and scrap problems, and takes corrective action.
  • Periodically tests product to ensure that product quality is maintained.
  • Recommends new quality improvement concepts in order to improve efficiency and scheduling.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Responsible for leading continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefer candidates with a BA/BS DEGREE
  • Must have at least 2+ years of production supervision experience with an ingredient, flavor, food or beverage manufacturer.
  • Must be flexible to work 10 hr shifts on a 3/4 schedule (3 days on, 4 days off following week. 4 days on and 3 off)
  • Must have excellent communication/people skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, rapidly growing environment
  • Must have solid computer skills.
  • Prefer local candidate but relocation assistance is available. Theywill consider candidates who can easily relocate to St Louis, MO
